Went the long way around and saw lots of old debris from last week. Skiing was great, even with a very noticeable and unbreakable crust below 1900m. About 10cm on top of that so lightfooded skiing worked out well but turned a bit sketchy when going fast. Windy close to and on ridge tops but generally a nice day with the sun poking out once in a while between some light snowfall periods. Didn't notice any instabilities and found the snow very stable in most aspects. Sunshine was starting to bake the snow a little again in the afternoon.
Not as much in Canyon Creek slid as we expected but almost all of the Holt Lake bowl and valley including Repeater north. Debris are huge, rock solid and sometimes hidden under the tiniest layer of snow to make for some intense travel and close calls. Cornices are gigantic right now.
