We travelled from Lost Boys up to the shoulder of Mammoth and then skied back down and up to Lost Boys. It was a clear, cold day with light wind. Surprisingly pleasant given the temperature. Heavily wind affected snow surface at all elevations and surface faceting. We saw 2 natural wind slab avalanches 1-1.5. The first one looked to be about 24-48 hrs old and was 50cm deep, 20m, and was hard slab that bent over some trees. The second avalanche happened during our tour today. A tree covered in rime broke, fell into an avalanche path, and initiated a wind slab avalanche (shown in photo) that was about 15-30cm deep.
