Warm, wet, and squishy

Great day in Calzon again for an AST course. Snow was pretty good especially closer to the trees on the south side of the valley. There’s an inversion around 1100m, it was -6 at the truck and 0 at 1200 m. We found a rain crust everywhere we went, just a couple cm down, and it was reactive in tests. Failures on a couple storm layers down 8 and 20 cm in a pit, but no propagations, and the lower snowpack is now really solid. Snow was starting to get quite wet and heavy by the end of the day.
