We kicked off a bit of cornice above a north facing chute just below the summit of Rudi’s Ridge. This pulled off a small slab (10-15 cm deep and 5 m wide) that ran the chute and entrained dry loose snow down the path to produce a size 1.5. The surrounding snow near the top was a bit more stubborn. We couldn’t set off a pocket of wind slab there.
Morning weather was broken cloud, light precipitation and light winds. At Rudi’s Ridge above the chute snow and wind had picked up.
