Pretty much as expected early season outing at Harvey
✅ shark infested boulder field
✅digging sleds out
✅remembering which binding goes on which side of the splitboard
✅got cold in the afternoon
✅plenty of logging trucks on the road chatting about their day on the radio
Dug a mini pit and saw some easy reactivity on density changes in the top 20-30cm of the snowpack. No obvious layers of note where we dug, total depth was just over a metre of more or less unconsolidated snow. This with the avalanche the day before was enough to keep us to the mellow slopes getting excited for the long winter ahead.
