Quick Observation
Great day out at puzzle peak! It was -10 at the car starting out but the alpine got warm with the heat day. By 2pm the surface started looking more wet and the snow was snowballing up more. There was 15-20 cm of light snow on top of a supportive crust which made for great skiing up high. A thin sun crust started to develop in sunny areas around 2500 m and below. We noticed some recent slab avalanches out of steep terrain likely from after the new snow but no other signs of instability.
