Quick Observation

About 30 cm of very low-density snow on top of a hard crust at Hollyburn. About half that amount of new snow under the forest canopy. Sun was strong in the late morning and I expect some sun effect on solar aspects in the North Shore. Observed small sluffs on steep sunny slopes as the day warmed up. Skiing conditions were good, but not great. The very hard crust from last weekend impacting riding conditions, although about about 1,300 m elevation it got better as the crust was not as hard. There was just about enough snow to make it more than a ''dust-on-crust'' day, but barely. Still lots of branches and trees under the forest canopy: it's still early-season conditions on Hollyburn, but nice to get out under sunny skies.
