The day tormented us with a freezing mist that didn’t affect the alpine slopes and treeline slopes above 2100m but was noticeable on the surface on our way out later in the day at lower elevations leaving a crust on the surface. We dug a pit (pic 1) ag the top of a fav popular ski/sled run noticing a huge lack of snow and lots of wind affect. HS was only 125cm CT’s had no results on any of the crusts primarily the more predominant one dn 80cm. No surface hoar was noted dn lower in the pack. Most noticeable was the most recent SH/interface from New Year’s Eve now only buried dn 5-10cm. We decided to not ride this run and decided to choose lower terrain (pic 2)
