No signs of avalanche activity or indicators of instability. Best ride I’ve experienced at Sugarbowl EVER! Get out there while it’s good!
No wind. Trees covered in snow at all heights and sides of trees (has not melted or blown off). The daytime temperatures were -10 to -15 ... way warmer than in town (Prince George), even at much higher elevations. We noticed that temperature was highly variable along the highway drive out from PG.
Based on informal ski pole tests: At the bottom third of the hill there was about 10cm of dry loose powder on top of a harder wind slab. In the upper third, there was about 35cm of loose powder on top of harder wind slab.
