- Alta-11,000' Sugarloaf, northeast aspect, "huge avalanche failed into November weak layer" 4'-8' deep x 400' wide rain into lake. "Blew mud off the bottom of the lake" Third largest slide Howie has seen on that path. Rock shot with avalauncher took out trees ( 2/10/1999)

Forecaster Comments: From what I can gather there was a rain event in early February, 1999 that started with wet slab activity failing on damp depth hoar and facets.
