I think you'd be hard pressed to trigger a deep slide where the snowpack is creeping into the 150-200 cm range or on sunny slopes where there wasn't any old October snow. I'd still proceed with caution stepping onto big slopes, terrain I'd didn't have a solid history of, or slopes that appear steep, rocky and shallow.</p>
Soft, creamy snow in wind sheltered terrain. Sunny aspects have a thin heat crust.
