this slide occured yesterday jan 4 above smith morehouse reservoir up at mud flat or shingle mill flat on the northeast corner at the top of a very steep slope/canyon that goes down to weber river. i and kevin mauchley checked out the slope from the top (we had already instructed everyone in our group that no one was going down there today) to see if anyone had gone down there and there had been a few who had gone down the east site thru the trees. the cornice was intact at that time, about noon or so. my boy rollan went back over about 2 and said about 2/3 of the cornice was gone, the slope had slid and he could see ground from his vantage point.
