Temperatures were slightly below zero during the day with no wind. In sheltered areas and below treeline, knee-height fist-density snow to the ground, with a barely noticeable crust 5cm from the ground. Features more susceptible to wind / spindrift loading had a variety of denser slabs and generally deeper snow, but showed no obvious signs of instability.
