Quick Observation
Solid conditions, but there was a fair bit of (unexpected?) solar input today. As we left the trees and poked out into the alpine, we noticed the snow getting wetter and a bit more cohesive. There were a few small point releases near the skin track that had entrained more snow on the way down. We transitioned on a small hump just before the final section to the top of the ridge. Didn’t look like anyone had skied from higher recently. On the way down we triggered a few small slides (pic 1). Sluff management was key on the steeper sections. Lots of fresh snow to be skied up there still!
