Quick report
Walked up Sub Shields in the southern part of the park and experienced some sunshine, plenty of clouds, light winds, and a few snow showers. Dug a pit at 6800' on an NE aspect, total snow depth was 85cm, and observed an ECTN10 10 cm down. Outside the still thin snowpack, we found fresh powder turns and kept it mellow. Low elevations (below 5k') still require some creative thinking on how to weave through the maze of thick forest.
