Quick report

Cracking

Collapsing

Found shooting cracks in mentioned suspect areas. A fresh, 1" thick coating of surface hoar, some refrozen solar crust from yesterday afternoon sun, and generally good but variable riding. Light winds. We generally stuck to low angle slopes given the variable nature and somewhat random location of wind slabs.

Found two suspect patches of snow in safe spots for a test cut, and produced small but touchy results on both. South and south east aspects, average crown depth 12", 15-20 ft wide, 5600-6300 ft. Both spots were far below ridge line, with one in a small treed field.
