Quick report
A few observations from our tour in the Essex area today: •Skied north and east facing aspects today. •No formal snowpack tests; we did not feel it was necessary. •Absolutely no signs of any instability. •Cloudy all day, with somewhat limited visibility. •Temps remained in the low to mid 20s. •Moderate wind on and off throughout the day, gusting at times to roughly 25mph. •The snow was consolidated on all north facing aspects; the wind was not transporting much (if any) snow and all wind affected snow was fairly superficial. •At no point did we observe any wind loaded slopes. •Skiing quality was decent, much better in sheltered areas (mostly non-north facing). •We felt comfortable shredding on 35*+ slopes with a handful of drops mixed in.
