Quick report
Skies were partly cloudy with patches of blue sky and sun as we drove up the Middle Fork this morning. By 10:30am we began to feel the wind picking up, and noticed snow blowing on higher peaks in the Flathead Range. By around 12:00pm, skies were fully overcast with snow falling by about 1pm. Westerly wind was actively transporting snow, filling our skin track, blowing snow off trees on our ascent ridge, and on slopes adjacent to us exposed to wind. Snowed consistently for reminder of our day, with about 2 inches of fresh on vehicles at days end.
