Quick report

Cracking
isolated

6 to 8 inches of new snow has fallen on a mostly firm surface at around 8,500'. Sustained winds out of the northeast were easily transporting new snow and loading/scouring slopes in unusual ways. Exposed east-facing slopes are most wind affected. Sheltered slopes, especially those with a west-facing aspect, hold unconsolidated powder. However, snow coverage is still quite thin requiring careful travel.

Observed a small wind slab on a north-facing test slope (see photo).
