Quick report
Dug a pit on a southeast facing slope at 8,500'. The top 5" (13cm) of snow was wet and lacked cohesion. Melt-water had penetrated 9" (21cm) down from the surface as of 3:30 pm. The water was pooling on an old melt freeze crust. The snow below this crust was moist. Preformed a PST on the wet crust and another crust 20" down. No propagation on either.
No obvious/significant wet activity visible from the summit.
