In general the snow was stable along my path of travel, with lots of wind texturing, but more consistent than I thought it would be, probably as a result of recent cold nights/ days following the last storm. I’m glad I brought crampons because travel Would have been difficult without them. I also went out on 12/21 for a quick morning lap, and the winds had picked up considerably over night which may create some features near the top that could become unstable As more snow (hopefully) piles on. In general the snow seemed stable, particularly in areas where it is caught from the wind. Avalanches observed in steeper, Rockier terrain. A decent amount of rollers in sun exposed areas

Snowpack
Snow put dug near old avalanche in red lake bowl, along western side. @elevation 10610ft, 7 ‘N HS - 50 cm. From top: 50cm-47cm- 1F 47cm- 35cm- 4F There is a distinct change in the size of snow grains at 35cm (larger, wetter) 35cm-30cm- 4F 30cm- ground (0cm)- 2F The snow from 30cm-ground is unconsolidated, larger grain size, the top is a sun/wind crust with finer grain sizes.
