Lower Flanks - Dana Plateau

Went to see what's going on in Tioga. Specifically, I was looking for persistent slab structure and wet loose activity. 

Persistent Slab - the structure exists and is more prominent as you tour around the compass from Southeast - North - Northwest.

• Southeast @ 9100' I found a thawed melt-freeze crust exists at the surface (varying thickness), over moist near surface facets, over wet rounds, over moist depth hoar. Depth hoar was broken up by ground anchors like bushes, logs and rocks. At this elevation, this aspect also holds patches of bare ground. See snowpit for specifics.  
• On East, the difference was a small facet layer between the depth hoar that had gotten wet and refrozen, and newer snow. 
• On northeast, the snowpack was dry with facets down to the old snow. ECT tests snowed no results (ECTX). I didn't have time to do a propagation saw test on this layer, but I wish I did. 

Wet Loose - Found old pinwheels and fans of rollerballs from earlier this week. I observed numerous fresh point releases. Of note, I observed the most recent activity on lower elevation terrain, or steep above treeline terrain. I even saw a couple areas of rollerballs off of cliffs on NE aspects. 

• Southeast @ 9100' - HS 0 - 100 cm. T air: 39ºF  T surf: 34ºF T -20: 33ºF
• Nourtheast @ 9100' - HS ~ 115 cm. T air: 36ºF T surf: 19ºF T -20: 23ºF
