Quick report

Went to West and South Monitor today, was expecting to get it to sluff easily in the steep terrain, like yesterday but could not buy a sluff with cornice drops, or ski cuts even in the steep terrain with a hard bed surface. If we receive the wind and snow predicted there is plenty of light density snow for transport. The light density snow might also make a active weak layer if it receives wind slabs on top of it. Not much to worry about today, not enough weight to change things, but stay tuned if we do receive significant snow amounts coupled with high winds. Pics, cornice drop in West Monitor with no sluffing, Sluffs that occured yesterday on the steep SE facing in South Monitor.

Snowpack

A two day storm total of about 7 inches of light density snow. Seemingly better bonded to the old surface today.
