Tuckerman Ravine Lobster Claw

The surface snow was a firm ice crust that was ~2cm thick. While it was icy and firm, it was not boilerplate and the surface was penetrable by crampons. 

At ~5000 ft in Lobster Claw the ice crust did soften slightly and become a more edgable surface. 

Did not find any dry or soft snow or wind slab in the terrain we covered. We did look for it in sheltered locations that typically harbors soft snow. It seems like any of the new snow melted into the surface as things were in the process of refreezing yesterday. 

It is important to note that the cloud coverage obscured any visual observations and limited being able to identify potential variances by sight. However it seemed that this surface was consistent in all terrain in avalanche paths, in exposed terrain, and in sheltered locations in the terrain we observed today.
