Quick report
This is a little old but maybe useful reference. On Sunday we went out BT crater. Skinning in at the wilderness boundary around 7k there was surprisingly good ~4” new snow. In the crater, some of the west facing aspects on the lookers right side were pretty scoured and hard, while nearby areas had just the right aspect or protection to have nice pow, mostly pretty well bonded to underlying crust. In Tower chute we were able to find nice snow most of the way down. The snow was better on the Pucker side, nice pretty consistent pow. Some other folks rode down the west aspect opposite the entrance to Pucker and said it was the best snow of the day. We were able to skin all the way to the entrance to Pucker which was somewhat surprising. Not much of a cornice, dropped a chunk and no results, ski cut and no results, entire chute rode amazingly well. Heard from others that the same area also skied great on Mon. Overall good coverage up high, but down low could really use some base, which looks like is finally about to start happening. Will be interesting to see how things shape up over the next week or two...
