No avalanches observed in Scotts Bowl or Asia Bowl. No cracking or collapsing observed, either.
The snowpack was bonded more strongly than expected. Snow pit test performed above Scotts Pass on a NNW aspect at 10000 ft. Height of snow 105cm. Failed at ECT23 with clean shear and propagation test at 32 with uneven, broken shear, both at the persistent weak layer. The snow was light on top getting consistently denser toward the ground.
On our decent, even on steeper sections of Scotts Bowl, we observed no cracking or negative signs of any kind.
