Avalanche: Wills Hill

We skied Will's Hill around 4pm today and observed three avalanches that we believe had been remotely triggered by previous skiers. There were already two tracks on the slope when we we skied the run, staying skiers left and stopping right before the convex roll at the bottom of the run before the tree line.

We observed avalanche #1 here on the convex roll that we assume was remotely triggered by the two skiers whose tracks cut skier's left from our location (first photo - hard to see unfortunately).

It's unclear if this happened today as we didn't see the skiers who the existing tracks belonged to. They looked fresh but it was in a pretty wind-protected area. We didn't investigate this first avalanche further as we were concerned about releasing more of the slope.

We then skied skier's left, roughly following the existing tracks and discovered two more avalanches in the trees (second and third photos). These were smaller in width and very close together but looked to be a similar depth of ~16". The bed surface was a crust layer with faceted snow underneath that you could easily punch through with your pole.

These were smaller but getting caught in these would have dragged you into and against the trees below (fourth photo). The tracks went through the first of these two lower avalanches and into the second and it looked like they had been skiing over the debris and had not been caught in it but we did a quick beacon check just in case and did not pick up any signals besides our party.
