- <p>Evidence of small natural point release on NE at 9,840' - maybe triggered by natural cornice fall.First observed 3/16. Occasional breeze and a few clouds fought the strong solar radiation and warming was minimal above 9,000'. No rollerballs or pinwheels on this tour. I don't expect this to be a problem tomorrow.</p>
Temperature crusts have crept further into the NE facing terrain even in the shade. The skiing conditions were more challenging today with refrozen surfaces from the past two days that hadn't softened enough as of 11:30 to want to make turns on. Colder settled snow on North facing slopes. Something that piques my interest with the next snowfall is the graupel that remains on these slopes (haven't put feet on West or South). In many places, the 4 inches of graupel is preserved between a buried deteriorating old crust and a new crust on the surface.
