Quick report
After the recent snowfall (11/24), I cross-country skied up Skyland Road to assess snowfall totals and look for signs of recent avalanche activity in upper elevations. •5-8" of recent snow on Skyland Road (5000-6000') •Below freezing temperatures, calm winds, and broken overcast skies. •Had decent visibility into upper elevations that yielded no recent signs of avalanche activity. •Spent some time glassing the upper elevations and although there was evidence of recent loading and wind transport, it was minimal. •Coverage appeared relatively thin at all elevations for this time of year. No signs of instability and no recent avalanches observed.
