Quick report
Buenos dias Flathead Valley! I am BACK skiing the most elusive lines of the Middle Fork of the Flathead (cherry-picked from the timeless tome, ‘Instant Gratification’ by Nathan Sande), today’s pick: the South Dickey Road Skate. Massive shoutout to the groomers at the Izaak for creating primo conditions for this classic descent and to OnX (sponsored by OnX) for helping me map out this infamously finicky descent. So, how do I sum up this day? The pow??? Hotter than my latest YouTube drop, thanks to some serious solar effect on S/E aspects in the afternoon. The stability??? More bomber than Bjarne’s flexed quad, with no cracking, whumpfing, or collapsing to speak of. The weather??? More variable than my local approval rating after complaining about the Pinchot Creek bushwhack, with a frigid start, mix of clouds/sun, light winds, and a lot of sun in the afternoon. Now, to enjoy a glass of Tincup Whiskey (sponsored by Tincup Whiskey) and ponder my next line.
