Quick report

Went up Stanton yesterday. Snowline 5k, mostly dirt walking. Blowdown isn’t that bad on the howe ridge trail. Ascended ridge, dug hand pit at 7k and did notice week layer 55cm down pulled with moderate force. Top of snow had a thin crust layer from recent warm up,made for fast travel. Skied south, crispy at first giving away to creamy corn, avoided main path which had old wet debris in the slide path. Skied center ridge, then into skier’s right path. Very thin snowpack ,walked out. Moss is going off this year.

Quick hand pit, noticed weak layer. Felt confident the new crust would support my weight
