Snowpack

Upper snowpack has settled and, although still soft, become slightly more dense. The snowpack in the area we explored was right side up, with the exception of well-preserved 4F facets of the January Drought Layer (JDL) lingering below the K hard crust from late January buried 60cm (2ft) from surface. This layer did not show propagation potential in our pit test at 6330' on SE aspect, but never the less is the obvious problem layer that will be tested during this weekend's incoming atmospheric river.
