Snowpack

The snowpack has transitioned to spring, with lots of saturated snow in the top 10-20 cms. Shallower zones seemed to have lower and warmer temperature gradients, increasing the likelihood of wet loose and wet slab avalanches. See snow pit profiles for more details. The snowpit from a WNW aspect near Humphreys trail did have compression test failures at the ground below rounding depth hoar, signaling continued weak layers within the snowpack, however, it is hard to characterize how representative this pit is.

Avalanche

Small point release on east aspect of Rustler Peak. Unknown Release time or trigger.
