Looking at my notes from last season in the same area the current snowpack is the same depth but much more cohesive. Last season there was a noticeable crust midway through the pack that became a layer of concern. A deadfall on the way up gave a fantastic visual (attached) of what is in Promise Land at the moment. The two halves of the snow are well bonded compared to reports in other areas of the Wasatch.
