The bootpacking in the alpine looks surprisingly good.

Bit of a local legend loop around Bald Hills yesterday. Up lovat scout loop and off the backside down to evelyn creek. Out via the evelyn connector and bald hills road. Good skiing was hard to find but sheltered tree line was best. Surface hoar below tree line and a thin crust between 1900 and 2100m all aspects. Solars had a 2cm crust up to 2200m (our high point). A lot of windward alpine terrain was more suited to bootpacking than skinning.
