On NNW glade 6500 ft, hand shears revealed resistant, sudden planer releases just above the stout crust which was 30cm below the surface. The first 4-5 cm above the solid crust was quite hollow and felt sugary with cohesive snow above. See photo. Surface snow indicated wind effect in this glade.
