Quick report

I skied in the southern Bitterroot today and found good riding on north facing aspects with no signs of instability. All other aspects were very much hot pow and not very good skiing. Lots of roller balling. I found this avalanche later in the day sitting on my back porch enjoying a beer.

Avalanche

Sitting on my back porch taking a look at wet loose slides from the day with my binoculars I found a very large Avalanche on the third peak west of Ward mtn that falls directly into Roaring Lion Creek. Crown is over 1000ft wide and looks to be about 3 to 5 feet deep. Really hard to say looking at it from town. East facing slope. I'm not sure if it ran today or yesterday but I'm leaning towards today with all the solar we received. Crown is about 200ft below the top of the point.
