Quick report
We went to Jakes Peak today to look for some spring snow on east aspects. Snow coverage is very limited below 7500' with lots of bushes and rocks showing. Even from 8000-9000', there are plenty of exposed rocks and small trees. With that said, we were able to ski up and down from Hwy 89 with some careful route finding. Melt freeze crusts were around 4'' thick and pencil hard in the morning on our approach. On our way down at 11:30am, melt freeze crusts decreased to 4F hardness with a few inches of wet surface snow. We did not see any signs of wet snow instabilities.

Scattered thin high clouds with mild temperatures. West winds were moderate to strong in wind exposed areas.
