Quick report

Cracking
isolated

Mixed precip at the trailhead this morning gave way to partly sunny skies most of the day and increasing snow showers after 2 pm. Solar was moderate at midday until it became more cloudy. Winds were moderate most of the day, gusting to strong and primarily out of the south. Approximately 6" of new snow at middle and upper elevations and on lee slopes. Mostly right side up with a good bond to the moist snow below the new snow, and generally little slab structure. We did find the most prevalent wind slabs below ridgeline on windward slopes behind tree islands where we observed shooting cracks and up to 40cm of wind-deposited snow in isolated locations.

Avalanche

Na Cornice failure triggered a D1 loose dry avalanche with minimal snow entrainment and no propagation.
