Quick report

Today we went up poulsens peak to gather observations , read the state of the snowpack , and maybe get some low angle skiing in. Several feet of unconsolidated snow made breaking trail difficult. Wind transport was very active today and at tree line small wind slabs were breaking and propagating on micro terrain on easterly aspects. Once gaining the ridgeline winds were high and wind slab development was widespread on northern aspects. The wind slabs were touchy and was able to intentionally trigger many slabs that ranged from 1-3 feet in depth. New snow depth was 240 cm on a northern aspect 8000 feet. We stuck to low angle only and gave buffer room on long steep runouts where wind slabs could be forming.
