Quick report
As we ascended via Valhalla Trees we observed a stout crust only on Westerly aspects, presumably from last evening’s blip of sun. All other aspects held up but were warming throughout the day. We skied a southerly aspect with good conditions but triggered significant wet loose sluffs on steeper terrain. Some large enough to carry a skier over terrain if you got caught up in it. Even with cool air temps the powerful March sun heavily affected the snow up to 5500’ as of 11am. Beautiful sunny day!
