Skinned up through Phantom trees and split from the skin track before it goes to the thunder creek overlook spot and instead headed across the slope on the skin track towards Phantom slide path in the open area. At about 5300, started experiencing shooting cracks on isolated convexities. By 5500, decided to turn around as we started kicking off 3-4in slabs on most all convex slopes. Did not make it up to slot entrance. Phantom skied well. Got very heavy at mid and lower elevations by 1pm
