Quick report
Despite a forecast for a breezy day we did not experience much wind or active transport in this semi protected bowl. Up near the ridge line above 5400 feet the temp was noticeably colder with a consistent breeze. However, transport had been active overnight because the skin track from yesterday had up to 8cm new snow filled in. The snow height was variable, from scoured down to the crust to up to 25cm in drifts. Some wind drifting was evident and in areas the snow had formed wind slabs up to 3cm thick. This wind slab did not propogate or crack over any distance. Skiing was much better than anticipated. The ECF was noticeable but provided a nice base for fast powder skiing in up to 20cm of high quality low density snow. No reactivity stood out to us today in any of the terrain we played in, including slopes up to 30 degrees.
Avalanche
The final slope up to Tronson held a small crown (maybe 1 foot?) above an area of cliffs. It appeared this was just the new recent snow slabbed above the EFC. Some debris was evident in the fan beneath the rocky outcrop.
