Quick report
Snow as low as 2,000 feet elevation, appearing on Forest Road 83. The Ape Canyon Trail is at first intermittently then continuously snow-covered from about 2900 feet elevation. Snowpack does not appear to be very deep -- only several inches except when wind-drifted--as many rocks, plants, etc., are showing. Some signs of snow sloughing off steep slopes sighted in the distance. Ice patches encountered probably due to sunshine and warming resulting in melting and refreezing. 46.195153, -122.133225 are the coordinates for about where we stopped due to snow and ice. N/A
