Arrowsmith - low tide

No snow on the road up to the saddle trail head. Between the saddle and Arrowsmith south facing slopes were dry. North facing slopes snow had drifted to up to 40cm but generally much less. There was a hard crust that was occasionally supportive. Some ice on the nose but mostly snow or dry rock. A great day for mountaineering but would have made for dreadful skiing. There was very old evidence of an avalanche out of the main gully into the upper cirque, probably at least a week old.
