Avalanche Information

Initiated right at ridge top on a heavily wind loaded slope with a 1m ish crown (quite far away, hard to say exactly but it was deep). May have stepped down to Dec crust/facet layer mid track (see red arrow right side of pic). Walked over the debris pile which had some wind affect and even a bit of fresh graupel on it so estimated it to have run maybe late on the 17th. Also saw a massive cornice failure- quite far away, hard to see in the pic but it was over 60m wide and probably 4m thick. Never got to a spot to see the debris pile, but it was huge.
