Best skiing in Elevation Band from 1100 to 1500. Above 1500 had moderate wind effect on south faces.
No ice storm and no temperature inversion in Callaghan valley, unlike much of the Sea to Sky…
Observed many small (smaller than size 1) naturals in the area on the top 22 cm layer. Many initiated by tree bombs. No deeper naturals. Test pit on North facing lee slope results: 25 deg slope. CTE (6) RP down 22 on Df CTM (11) RP down 44 on Df CTM (23) RP down 68 on Df DTH (23) RP down 130 on buried Graupel layer. Snowpack temperatures had a slight reverse gradient due to recent very cold temperatures with current air temp at -7.4 deg , 20 cm down at -5.9 deg and 70 to 170 down had colder snowpack temperatures at -8.5 deg to -9 deg. Didn’t dig any further than that… Seems like Callaghan Valley up to Gin peak was spared the worst of the temperature inversion in Whistler and ice storm in Squamish. No major ice or melt freeze layers in the upper recent snowpack.
