Skied Heroes knob, cloudy, warm weather with winds to moderate from the north at ridgetop.
No evidence of recent avalanche activity besides sluff coming off the headwall. Old crowns up to size 3 visible along fans in steep NE alpine below headwalls.
Skiing down Sweet 16 was wind effected and a variable., the top of the run was 4-finger windslab that was very stubborn to hand shears and unreactive to skis. Ski quality improved considerably once we got down to treeline. Great coverage. Signs of old crownlines on both sides of the run.
Didn't find much evidence of surface hoar in sheltered areas, possibly buried by trace snow overnight. Looked for suncrust on south slopes but only found very thin zipper crust in isolated areas.
