40-50 deg unsupported thin slope below cornice on Wapta/Mount field ridge.

Weather

no wind moving snow all day, except for when we left around 15:30 there were plumes of snow (west winds) coming off Wapa/Field ridge line.

Snowpack

Mount Field today. 3cm new snow. 35-50cm over Feb.1 rain crust, which is present up to 1850m. Beautifully progressive snowpack with probe and pole tests. 230cm deep snowpack at 1900m. Gently wind pressed snow in alpine (would not call it a slab) and low density TL and below. Exceptional ski quality.
