Spent the day NE of Sparwood. It snowed most of the day, mainly around 1 cm per hour. We measured the snowpack at 2125 m to be between 140 and 210 cm. The snowpack down to 50 cm off the ground is well settled after the prolonged warm weather in the area. The facetted sugary snow at the bottom is bonding well and was unreactive in our snowpack tests at this location. The forecasted warming and heavy precip had started as we left the area this afternoon and estimate the freezing level was around 1700 m at 1400hrs.
